Course Registration Policies

Effective February 1st, 2007

Please read the course descriptions in the brochure carefully. Please select courses that meet your needs. Contact the Preparedness Department at (914) 946-6500 extension 257 or 258 if you have questions about any of the courses listed in the brochure. All courses with pre-requisites must present appropriate certification to the instructor at the first class session.

NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED FOR CLASSES!

The American Red Cross in Westchester county reserves the right to cancel any class with less than (4) four students enrolled. If the Red Cross must cancel a class due to low enrollment, students will be contacted by phone at their daytime phone number. Students may then transfer (1) one time to another class without a processing charge. If the current schedule does not include another date for students to transfer into, then a refund will be issued.

Students must attend all scheduled sessions and arrive on time. Students that arrive after the course has begun will not be permitted to attend the course and a refund will not be issued.

Students must meet all pre-requisite skill requirements. Pre-course Testing is conducted at the start of all Instructor courses and Aquatics classes. See brochure for skills needed to pass the pre-test.

There are no refunds given if you fail the pre-test. Please make sure your skills are at the level needed to pass a pre-test. All pre-test skills are listed in the brochure.

$25 transfer fee per student to charge from one course into another.
$25 replacement fee for lost/stolen certificates.
$25 processing fee if the bank refuses and/ or returns your check.

Students must attend all scheduled class sessions; classes cannot be made up at a later date.

If a course is cancelled due to inclement weather, announcements will be made on the radio on the following stations:

103.9 FM WFAS and 100.7 FM WHUD.
